Careers with HSBC

HSBC – be part of the world’s local bank

With headquarters in London UK, HSBC Holdings plc is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world.

The HSBC Group has some 10,000 offices in 82 countries and territories in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa.

One of the group’s strategic imperatives is to attract, retain and motivate the best people. HSBC Bank Middle East’s vision is to become recognised as the best employer in the Middle East within the financial sector. HSBC's business principles and values identify staff as a key resource. We are committed to the recruitment and promotion of employees solely on merit and suitability. We are also committed to encouraging all staff to realise their full potential as well as recognising and rewarding individual performance.

How do we achieve this?

1  Through open and honest communication.
2  Through competitive performance-linked remuneration  with attractive popular benefits.
3  Through fair, transparent and effective performance management.
4  Through attractive career prospects.
5  Through being an equal opportunity employer.

Although we may not be recruiting for a specific position, we will review potential candidates on the basis of vacancies arising in the future.

The qualifying criteria are:
1  Lebanese Nationality.
2  University graduate with a major in Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.
3  Good mathematical reasoning.
4  Fluency in Arabic & English.

Details of applicants with appropriate qualifications are retained for 12 months. During this period, applicants may be contacted for interviews or proficiency tests.

Applicants passing such preliminary tests will be informed and requested to attend an interview, usually within ten days. This procedure will result in a job offer within one month of the initial tests, should a suitable vacancy exist.

New recruits should expect a steep learning curve. It is HSBC’s commitment to develop and enhance the skills of all staff through a range of learning opportunities, to achieve the bank's vision, which is to be the most respected financial services organisation in the region.

Training in HSBC

HSBC has a Training Centre staffed by training professionals. All new entrants will attend an induction course, which provides them with essential information about HSBC, its history, values, products and services.

We offer Staff Officer training programmes. Candidates selected as Customer Services Representatives will be given specialised Customer Services accreditation training.

Should suitable training courses not be available locally, staff may be required to attend training at HSBC’s Regional Training Centre in Dubai, or the Group Training Centre in the UK.

Career Path in HSBC

*We believe in providing all staff with a career path. Those with a proactive attitude to their work and who have the potential and aptitude to become a future leader will find ample opportunities to progress with HSBC and to develop their skills and talents.

Staff who are Officer and Executive grades who are experienced and who demonstrate ability and management skills can expect to go far with HSBC.
